Rahul Raj grew up in a small town called Kolar, Karnataka, in an agricultural family. His father, a serial entrepreneur and public servant, was deeply involved in agriculture and other ventures, inspiring Rahul to dream big and think creatively about solving problems. Watching his father juggle multiple roles gave Rahul early exposure to the struggles and opportunities in rural India, leaving a lasting impression and sparking his passion for creating meaningful solutions for the farming community.
Eager to explore new opportunities, Rahul moved to Bengaluru to study engineering. But as he delved deeper into his education, he realized that engineering alone wouldn’t help him address the real-world challenges he cared about. With an entrepreneurial mindset already brewing, he ventured into the construction industry and spent nearly a decade building a successful business.
However, his heart always belonged to agriculture. Determined to follow his passion, Rahul returned to his roots and started Sasya Produce (www.sasyaproduce.com). This venture focused on exporting fresh produce to premium global markets. Working closely with farmers through a contract farming model, he gained valuable insights into agriculture’s most challenging value chains. These experiences shaped his belief that when done right, farming can be both sustainable and profitable.
Rahul strongly believes in inclusive growth, where every stakeholder benefits, and this belief drove him to embrace social entrepreneurship. For him, it’s not just about business—it’s about making a difference. Building on the lessons from Sasya Produce, Rahul Co-founded GreenEdge, a venture that’s reimagining renewable energy. By converting energy crops and agricultural waste into bio-CNG, GreenEdge reduces carbon emissions, creates additional income for farmers, and improves soil health with organic byproducts.

Beginning his career in the IT sector, Yashwant developed a strong foundation in data analysis, digital solutions, and process optimization. His hands-on approach and commitment to problem-solving gave him the tools to make a meaningful impact beyond the tech industry.
